Annual Women's Conference

The "seed" money for the annual conferences come from SWUUW. This "seed" money is repaid to SWUUW after the hosting group concludes the conference. To host a conference, send e-mail to one of the officers listed on our CONTACT page.

District-Level Communication

SWUUW provides a district-level communication through the newsletter and yahoo e-mail list.

Participation and Leadership Opportunities

SWUUW offers an opportunity for leadership, which is backed up with scholarship funding for sending officer(s) to leadership school and/or SWUUC Conferences (Spring/Fall/SWUUSI). We have also sponsored other SWUUW women with the scholarship for the Dwight Brown Leadership School. Volunteers within the SWUUW organization have kept this organization going since the 1920s.

SWUUW is on the grow! Your participation and interest helps the organization grow and be more meaningful for the women in this district!

Participation by Women's Groups within SWUUC is vital to providing annual Women's Conferences, because it takes a group of women to put one on! See CONFERENCES for a list of those scheduled.

SWUUW Activities

SWUUW has been active at SWUUSI each year by providing LUNCHES PLUS, which offers a lunch alternative to the restaurant food for a modest cost. The lunches are SWUUW fundraisers and have helped raise the money used for "seed" money. Beginning in 2001, the LUNCHES PLUS money went directly for our social action projects. To support our social action, eat and encourage others to eat at LUNCHES PLUS.

The "PLUS" part of LUNCHES PLUS is a program offering information about social justice issues. Plus one day (WEDNESDAY) is scheduled for a business meeting.

SWUUW has also been active at the SPRING and FALL SWUUC Conferences by sponsoring a workshop or sending a representative or both. Also, SWUUW often hosts a lunch table at Spring & Fall Conferences so topics of interest can be discussed.
