Unraveling the Gender Knot
Rosemary Matson co-chair of the first UUA Women and Religion Committee in 1978, which organized the first convocation of UU women in Loveland, Ohio in 1979. Their work began to eliminate sexist language from the UU principles and purposes and from our hymns. In 1998 Rosemary and Lucile Longview were given the "Ministry to Women" award by the UU Women's Federation and their names were placed on the Wall of Fame in Senaca Fall, NY, the site of the first Women's Rights Convention in 1848.
